The Inaugural BBC Dash 4 Cash commenced in cold, wet conditions and saw a small but talented group of riders take to the course at the Macadamia Castle. Riders from SE Queensland were the best represented with only one BBC rider brave enough to turn up at the starting line, rising star Ben Hogan.
Joe Cooper took out the Inaugural BBC Dash4Cash, proudly sponsored by The Bicycle Emporium.
Carter Bettles hung on for 2nd in what can only be described as a war of attrition. The Race was to be 15 laps, or 112 km but with the attrition rate high, with many riders pulling out due to either the cold, wet conditions or for mechanical reasons and only the most determined staying out on course, it made sense to shorten it to 11 laps and get the remaining riders warm, dry and onto the Podium.
Joe was in a class of his own though and finished just over 9 minutes in front of Carter.
A huge thanks to all who took part, especially our volunteers. We look forward to hosting you again next year, hopefully with better weather.
